Group History

The Beginning...

O'Flynn Construction was founded in Cork , Ireland in 1978.  It has become one of the leading developers of residential and commercial property in Cork.  It is now at the forefront of property development and has achieved considerable success in the retail, commercial, industrial and residential sectors in Ireland .

A number of developments are carried out in conjunction with joint venture partners such as the Eastgate Business Park in Little Island, Cork with private clients of Goodbody Stockbrokers, the University Technology Centre with University College Cork and a number of developments in the UK with financial institutions.

The company strives to acquire sites in strategic locations for development and sale, while retaining a number of these developments for its own investment portfolio.

In conjunction with its property development and construction activities O'Flynn Construction specialises in the project management of its own developments from site acquisition through to the completed investment. The company also manages its own investments under a separate specialised management company.

Since 1985, O'Flynn Construction has been involved in the U.K. property market and has carried out residential, industrial, commercial, retail and office developments throughout the UK.

The Growth Years...

In 1996, Victoria Hall was formed to expand its student accommodation business from Cork to the UK.  Today Victoria Hall is one of the largest providers of student accommodation in the UK and owns over 4,500 en-suite bedrooms in nine cities with a further 3,000 in the pipeline in three new cities.

Tiger Developments was formed in 1999 as a joint venture between O'Flynn Construction and Goodbody Stockbrokers to pursue property investment and developments across the UK and Ireland.  Initially Tiger's activity in the UK property market was focused on development but more recently it has become very active in the investment market and has recently started to put together a portfolio of German investment assets. Today Tiger has established itself as a very successful and highly reputable property investment and development company in the UK and Europe .

In 2006 O'Flynn Construction completed the purchase of the outstanding equity in Tiger, which was owned by private clients of Goodbodys.  This ultimately led to the decision to merge these three highly successful companies to become The O'Flynn Group.  Last year the group announced its intention to commence work in the retirement sector through the establishment of Shelbourne Senior Living

The Future...

The O'Flynn Group plans to pursue joint venture projects with a number of institutions in the coming years.  In addition to Western Europe the group is also pursuing opportunities in Eastern Europe.

Today there are four distinct and separate parts to the group and the group is investigating other areas of interest.
